Unleash your inner artist by joining The Arc of Palm Beach County in a community art project. On Thursday, August 16, 2018, the public is invited to help bring a mosaic to life. The Arc and the Schumacher Automotive Group are creating a giant community art piece to express their shared vision of inclusion and acceptance. The finished mosaic will be displayed in the Schumacher showroom at 3031 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach.

Community leaders will honor The Arc of Palm Beach County for 60 years of service. The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners will issue a proclamation on Saturday, September 8 to publicly recognize the charity’s mission to help people with disabilities.

Start your teen’s summer on a positive note. The Arc of Palm Beach County’s new Stand Up Program is hosting a four-day, three-night leadership training camp. The event, which kicks off next week, helps high school-aged teens build their leadership skills, while introducing them to community service opportunities.

You’ve heard of speed dating? Well, welcome to speed jobbing! Job-A-Palooza is a fast-paced job training event that gives candidates the opportunity to learn about possible careers and meet potential employers. The Arc of Palm Beach County is hosting the event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 9 at the Palm Beach Gardens campus of Palm Beach State College: 3160 PGA Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Original works of art are springing up just in time for Mother’s Day. Artisans at The Arc of Palm Beach County have designed a colorful bouquet of handmade gifts for mom. The nonprofit, which serves children and adults with developmental disabilities, will host a pop-up shop called Bloom at The Gardens Mall. Bloom will be open Wednesday, May 2 through Sunday, May 13, in the Grand Court on the mall’s lower level.

The Arc of Palm Beach County wants to partner with local businesses and organizations to help build bright futures for young people with disabilities. Job-A-Palooza is a fast-paced job training event that gives candidates the opportunity to learn about possible careers, and employers the chance to explore an untapped pool of applicants.

The year was 1958, the Hula-Hoop rolled into stores and Elvis joined the army. In Palm Beach County, it marked a turning point for people with developmental disabilities as The Arc of Palm Beach County was incorporated.
