Stand Up is a leadership training experience that matches high-performing teens with same-age peers at The Arc. Due to the mentor program’s success, The Arc has been nominated for the Program Innovation Award and is leading the charge to get Stand Up implemented on a national level.

Gala sponsors, board of trustee members, and guests got the Cowboy Ball party started early on Saturday, March 9, at a Kickoff Party hosted by board member Melanie Jacobson and her husband Jeffrey Katzell. Attendees gathered at the couple’s luxurious Singer Island home, where they dined on amazing food, enjoyed signature-themed cocktails, and discussed saddling up for the fast-approaching Cowboy Ball.

pdfWILD Pants Party Shows Acceptance Is On-trend

On Friday, January 25, hundreds of guests filled the Grand Court at The Gardens Mall to watch local businessmen, philanthropists, and clients from The Arc of Palm Beach County slay the runway for the 9th annual WILD Pants Party. The evening’s “fashion models” threw caution to the wind with bright and bold outfits to raise money for the nonprofit.

Bicyclists are more likely to be killed in Florida than in any other state, according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. It is estimated that 75% of bicycle-related fatalities among children could be prevented with a bicycle helmet.

Acceptance is a universal desire. We long for our authentic self to be seen, heard, and accepted. Finding acceptance and inclusion for people with disabilities has been the goal of The Arc of Palm Beach County for 60 years. The nonprofit wants to extend that message beyond its clients to encourage a community conversation about acceptance.
