Community leaders will honor The Arc of Palm Beach County for 60 years of service. The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners will issue a proclamation on Saturday, September 8 to publicly recognize the charity’s mission to help people with disabilities.

 

County leaders will join board members, clients, staff, and volunteers from The Arc of Palm Beach County to recognize the milestone. The proclamation will be presented during Job-A-Palooza, a job fair for young people with disabilities. The job fair connects applicants with local businesses that are ready to hire.

WHERE: Palm Beach State College, Lake Worth Campus

MORE: In 1958, a group of parents and volunteers who wanted to improve the lives of people with disabilities formed The Arc of Palm Beach County. Since then, The Arc has been a leader in the movement to encourage the inclusion and acceptance of people with disabilities. The Arc provides services and programs that span a person’s entire life, including education, housing, career services, and family support.

The Arc of Palm Beach County has been improving the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities, and their families, through services, education, and advocacy since 1958. The Arc supports programs throughout Palm Beach County that reach more than 2,800 families each year.
