Career Transition Program

In order to be successful in life, we must all develop a variety of skills that are important in the home, at a job and when in public. The Arc’s Career Transition Program helps participants to develop a wide variety of life skills that are necessary in the workplace and in the greater community. Adults with developmental disabilities are assisted on their path to independence and inclusion through lessons that are designed to help them manage skills related to daily living, personal/social involvement and occupational activities. The program is geared toward people aged 18 and older who are no longer in school, have appropriate behavior skills and who have mastered independent eating and toileting, as well as other basic personal care needs.

Participants must have the ability to stay in their assigned classroom areas at all times. They must sign in and out daily, and come dressed in appropriate business casual attire. Enrolled individuals must also be able to behave appropriately with a staff ratio of one staff member for every 10 participants.
