November 12, 2014, West Palm Beach, Florida – More than 70 golfers enjoyed a perfect fall afternoon at the exclusive Trump International Golf Club on October 27 as they helped raise $58,000 for The Arc of Palm Beach County and Palm Beach Habilitation Center through the Tee Up for Disabilities Charity Golf Invitational. The event was possible thanks to an agreement between Trump International and the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, and the two benefiting charities were selected by Vice Mayor Paulette Burdick. Donald Trump, Jr. served as the honorary chairman.
The beautiful weather and magnificent setting set the scene for a superlative experience that even included LPGA golfer Michelle McGann playing in a foursome with long-time Arc supporter Robert Lloyd George. Event sponsors Braman Motorcars, GL Homes, Pratt & Whitney and JVC Broadcasting Palm Beach came together with product donors Arrowhead Beef, Southern Wine & Spirits and Oceana Coffee, several tee sponsors and many individual donors and supporters to create this special event.
The afternoon included a fabulous buffet and exciting raffle prizes, as well as 18 incomparable holes of golf. Attendees enjoyed the opportunity to meet Jason, The Arc's Youth Ambassador, and Michelle, a client at Palm Beach Habilitation Center. A highlight of the festivities was when Michelle and Jason presented Vice Mayor Burdick with a photo montage of clients from both agencies. The day's outstanding golfing even resulted in the need for a scorecard tiebreaker, which ultimately determined that the foursome from Platinum Properties Real Estate was the winner of this once-in-a-lifetime tournament.
