July 21, 2014, Riviera Beach, Florida  – The Arc of Palm Beach County is pleased to announce that Bairbre Flood has been named the new principal of Potentials Charter School. Bairbre joined The Arc in February as Family Support Coordinator after spending seven years at FAU’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD). She also has been a preschool specialist, a special education teacher and an autism teacher and coach.  Bairbre has a B.S. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an M.S. Ed. from Simmons College.

“I’m excited to undertake this new challenge and look forward to working with our amazing students and their families,” Bairbre said, adding, “It will be wonderful to be a part of the daily growth and development of the students and the school.”

Bairbre is a dedicated team member who is always focused on helping those she serves to achieve their greatest success. Her extensive background in the areas of special education and students with developmental disabilities have prepared her well for this role, and will enable her to make a significant impact on the students and families served by Potentials. Potentials Charter School is poised to ascend to the next level in the provision of cutting-edge services to children with significant disabilities, and Bairbre Flood is the ideal person to lead this endeavor.

About Potentials Charter School

Potentials Charter School serves children who are between the ages of three and 10, residents of Palm Beach County and unable to walk or talk. The students who attend Potentials have a wide range of developmental disabilities. The educational model at Potentials centers on each activity offering educational and therapeutic value, providing students with a foundation in communication, ambulation and academics in order to equip them for inclusion in their surrounding neighborhoods and communities.
